Filtration

The water that comes over the sedimentation weirs is then filtered.

Filtration removes any particles remaining in the water. The filter is made up of two layers:  sand, and anthracite coal.  As the water flows down through each layer, any remaining particles are removed since they will stick to the surface of the sand and the anthracite.

After filtration, we give the water a final dose of chlorine and send it to the distribution system.
